December at the Library
The following events will be held at the Mary Riley Styles Public Library in the remainder of December.
Tuesday, December 15th, 10:30 am. Senior Book Discussion: Franklin and Lucy: Mrs. Rutherfurd and the Other Remarkable Women in Roosevelt’s Life by Joseph Persico.
Wednesday, December 16th. Twilight Tales will feature storyteller Barbara Witucki, telling her original tales, Rabbit, Rabbit, about four of her furry friends. Along with her will be a special guest. It’s a secret, but here’s a clue – salad is a favorite food. The story time will appeal to children ages 4 to 7, but siblings are welcome to attend. The program begins promptly at 7:00 pm.
Saturday, December 19th. Drop-in family craft will feature Megan Hicks as the Origami Swami. From 11:00 to 2:00, Ms. Hicks will be offering half hour workshops showing participants how to create gifts using the ancient art of paper folding. Youngsters may need a little help from parents or older siblings, but it is an event for the whole family to enjoy together. The program is free to the public and no registration is required
Wednesday, December 23rd, from 1:00 to 4:00. Drop-in winter craft available in the children’s room for all ages.
Monday, December 28th, at 2:00. Bingo game for kids aged 7 to 14.
Tuesday, December 29th, at 2:00. Bingo for ages 4 to 6 with a parent or guardian. Space is limited for Bingo, so advance registration is required.
Wednesday, December 30th features another winter craft program for all ages.
Art work by Thomas Jefferson Elementary students will be on display until December 18th. The public is encouraged to stop by the library to enjoy the many colorful, imaginative creations.
Regularly scheduled story times will be suspended starting on December 18th. Winter story timesbegin again on Tuesday, January 12th.
