Weekend Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas
There are lots of opportunities to get in the Christmas spirit this weekend in Falls Church:
- The Christmas Cabin of Carnaween is an Irish folktale adapted for the stage by Creative Cauldron. Presented by an ensemble of professional and student actors, this production is ideal for families, especially those with elementary age children. Weekend performances are Friday & Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday & Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. at ArtSpace Falls Church (410 S. Maple Avenue). Tickets are $10 and can be reserved at www.CreativeCauldron.org or by calling 571-239-5288. The play runs through Sunday, Dec. 20.
- Christmas Wishes is an art exhibit in the Falls Church Arts Gallery @ ArtSpace. The two-dimensional works reflect the themes of the play. The exhibit is open before and between performances of The Christmas Cabin of Carnaween. www.FallsChurchArts.org
- Falls Church Arts Holiday Gallery at the Farmers’ Market (300 Park Avenue) features “giftable goods” (note cards, jewelry, fabric arts, paintings, and other works) created by members of Falls Church Arts. At the market through Saturday, Dec. 19.
- A Classic Brass Christmas concert presented by Choralis is a very popular annual event that includes traditional Christmas songs, a candlelight procession, and audience sing-along caroling. Sunday, Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. at the Falls Church Presbyterian Church (225 East Broad St.). Tickets are $25 general admission, $40 premium seating, $5 for students 22 & under with ID, and free for children 12 and under. This concert often sells out, so order at www.Choralis.org or by calling 703-237-2499.
