VIDEO: Sze Says Councilman Maller ‘Out at End of June’

The four City Council terms expiring June 30, 2010 are held by Hal Lippman, Dan Maller, Dave Snyder, and Dan Sze. At the Dec. 14 City Council meeting, during a discussion on whether the election should be moved (and terms extended), Council member Dan Sze stated that his colleague, Dan Maller, had said:

“Regardless of what you guys vote on, I’m out of here at the end of June.”

Maller did not respond to Sze’s remark during the Council meeting.

I *think* Mr. Sze was making reference to Mr. Maller’s previous statements that he wouldn’t support a plan that extended his term (which ends in June). Maybe he was revealing a private conversation with Mr. Maller about not running for re-election? I think that would be too bad for the City – I think Mr. Maller has done a really good job.
