Are We ReallyThis Broke?

This City-owned and operated garbage truck makes quite an unattractive statement for Falls Church as it rumbles through local neighborhoods — the rust is worthy of an abandoned freighter. Read more to see how the City’s new branding campaign could improve this image.garb600

There — doesn’t that look better?

We could save some money by not buying the white paint – we only need to add the letters to the truck.

Yes, we are this broke. $2.2 million short in FY2010 due to the water decision alone, and $9.7 million for next year. I am not sure but if you do the math that means a whole lot of job loss for workers, loss of services for us, and a huge tax increase. I hope most city workers don’t live in the city because some will be fired, and then the services won’t be there to help out, and then they will get a tax bill that will be the final kick in the head. I hope everyone enjoyed Watch Night, free mulch, police, quality schools, the new hedge surrounding City Hall, snow removal, and riding on George because that is all about to end.

Oh yeah, it would look so much better with “The Little City” written over the rust.
