The tire slashings and window smashings are very interesting - the majority occurred within a few blocks of W. Broad St., with the outlying crime occurring on Randolph. The crimes occurred in clusters. The first slashing occurred on E. Fairfax and included a window smashing. The other window smashings did not involve slashed tires. Based on the locations of the smashings, one might deduce that State Theater customers were targeted. The slashings look more like someone starting on S. Maple and then walking down Park Avenue and hitting cars at an opportune moment on one night. The other night's slashings occurred on Randolph and Offut, on opposite sides of Broad, but both off of West. So the question is, same criminal on different days? And why in the middle of Randolph, far away from the other crimes?

Wow, this looks like an escalation in the problems with our cars. The reports used to be about tampering with unlocked cars...now windows are being smashed to get in? Locking our cars is not a prevention strategy for this type of crime. Hope the Police are all over this one. This is not consistent with The Little City image, it's more big city.
