From my experience, the CBC is a great organization full of people who really want what is best for the City. There's one thing that I've wondered about - why aren't they willing to nominate more candidates than positions being elected?

The CBC's stated objective (from their Bylaws) is, "CBC's objective is good city government, responsive to the needs and interests of Falls Church city residents." Their position of nominating the minimum number of people fits in with that okay, but their first listed "Functions of CBC" (Article II of the Bylaws) is, "To select able and qualified persons to run as CBC candidates for the Falls Church City Council and the Falls Church City School Board, and to seek their election."

If there are 5 or 6 potential candidates for the upcoming election who all support and agree with the CBC's principles, and are qualified to run and serve if elected, then why wouldn't the CBC be willing to nominate all of them?

Maybe this issue doesn't come up because there aren't enough qualified people interested in running?
