Schools, City Offices Closed Monday

Falls Church City Schools and government offices will be closed Monday, Feb. 8.

School day care and ASAP also will be closed.

Because the schools have already used their allotted snow days, Monday’s closing will be made up on Presidents Day, Monday Feb. 15, according to Karen Acar, FCCPS Communications Director.  If another snow day is required, it will be made up on Apr. 12, currently planned as a teacher  professional day.

According to City communications director Barbara Gordon, the GEORGE bus, special pickups, brush and Christmas tree pickups will all be suspended for Monday.  The City Council’s regular Feb. 8 meeting will be postponed.

Residents are advised not to call 9-1-1 for general information, but rather only for true emergencies.  Power outages should  be reported to Dominion at 1-866-667-3000.
