Patrick Riccards Announces Run for School Board

Local businessman Patrick R. Riccards today announced his candidacy for the Falls Church City School Board and will seek CBC (Citizens for a Better City) endorsement.

Riccards is CEO of Exemplar Strategic Communications, a Falls Church City-based education policy consultancy. He began his career on Capitol Hill, where he worked for U.S. Sen. Robert C. Byrd (WV), U.S. Sen. Bill Bradley (NJ), and U.S. Rep. John W. Olver (MA).

In 2008, Falls Church City Council appointed Riccards as the City’s representative on the Health Systems Agency of Northern Virginia.  Previously, he served as chair of the Arlington County School Board’s Early Childhood Education Advisory Committee, committee chair for Inova’s Year of the Child, and board member for the SER Child Development Center.

Riccards attended public schools in West Virginia and is a graduate of the University of Virginia.  He and his wife, Jennifer, have lived in Falls Church since 2006.
