The headline is correct!  Falls Church Arts is sponsoring an exhibit of paintings of outdoor “Scenes in the City” and the art show will be held outdoors on City Hall grounds from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 29.   Judging of the artwork entered into the Plein Air Festival will take place during the day; the awards ceremony will be held at 3 p.m.

There will be a $250 cash prize awarded to “Best in Show” as determined by a panel of professional artists; ribbons will be given for second and third place.  There will also be a “People’s Choice” award, so come to the exhibit before 3 p.m. on Saturday and cast your vote.

The Plein Air Festival has been going on since May 1, and the artwork in Saturday’s exhibit represents local artists’ interpretations in oil, acrylic and/or watercolor of scenes throughout Falls Church City.  If you can’t get to City Hall on Saturday, the exhibit will hang inside City Hall from June 1 – 11, Monday through Friday 8 a.m – 5 p.m., on the G-Level.

Just a clarification — after the Plein Air Show and Sale on Saturday, participating
artists who have painted outside “Scenes in the City” will choose ONE of their
paintings for the exhibit inside City Hall.

So if you want to see ALL of the ART there will be MUCH MORE ART TO VIEW
ON SATURDAY AT THE SHOW ITSELF. We are excited to have this first annual
event (inclement weather will move the show inside the Community Center).

The AWARDS will be promptly held at 3 PM Saturday. Please vote in ample time
to have your vote counted. Thanks for your support. See you Saturday.
