Troop 349 Visits Sweden on the Potomac
By MONIQUE WONG
Thirty Scouts and leaders from Falls Church City Boy Scout Troop 349 participated in an International Scouting Day on May 28 at the Embassy of Sweden near Washington Harbor. They learned about Sweden, Swedish Scouting, World Jamborees, and knot tying during the 3-hour event. After sampling Swedish drinks and cookies, several Scouts and leaders hiked to Roosevelt Island to learn about Swedish flora and fauna.
The International Scouting Day was organized jointly by the International Committee of the National Capital Area Council and the Embassy of Sweden. It offered a glimpse into the upcoming 22nd World Scout Jamboree, which will be in Rinkaby, Sweden in July and August this summer. Ms Marie-Louise Lövgren, Head of Communications for the 22nd World Scout Jamboree, came especially from Sweden for this warm-up event and to share her knowledge of Sweden and experiences as a citizen.

And I thought the City of Falls Church was Sweden on the Potomac …
Ha! Good one, Hillel. I’m not sure we would agree on why, but I think that’s a great comment!
