FOOD: Junk, Cupcake and Dogs – Trivia Quest

There is a new place in the community, but not in the Little City, where I have been frequently over the last two weeks. My new favorite snack food is Junk and my new favorite drink is Cupcake. I did one night sustain myself with a Kimchi Dog. And there are also cupcakes.

Do you know where I have been hanging out?

Answer will come next week!

Sounds like you’ve been at Angelika Film Center & Cafe in the new Fairfax Mosaic District. I think it just opened September 21. It’s on my list (I heard something about tandoori popcorn)…

Congrats! Yes, that is where I have been! I did not try the Tandoori popcorn, but I have tried the others. Review of all will be next week!

Kathleen: speaking of “foodie” things, i was wondering if you have written-or will write- about Open Kitchen, the restaurant/caterers in the strip mall across from George Mason HS? My wife and i ate there 2 months ago and i was very impressed with the preparation. I know it’s technically outside “The Little City” but still close enough for us Falls Churchians…Ray A

Thanks for your inquiry. Open Kitchen will be included as part of a wrap article I am doing in the future. Currently I do not have any plans to do a write solely about the restaurant due to some frequent bad experiences at and with the restaurant. I am pleased for the business that it has a good following.
