The 2-year-old Mustang field hockey team, with a record of 4-3-1, has stepped it up in the past few weeks, winning their last three games in a row.

The girls played Brookewood High School on Wednesday, October 17th, winning 1-0. The Mustangs played a solid game, with multiple shots on goal and quick clears defensively. The winning shot, scored by freshman Caroline Stricker, was only the first of her many goals to follow.

At their home game on Friday, October 19th, the girls took on Briarwoods High School. It was a close game, tied 1-1 (goal scored by Stricker) at the end of the second half. The game went into a twelve-minute overtime, with only 7 players from each team on the field playing to the first goal scored.

The Mustangs’ perseverance was key to their success; the winning goal was scored by Stricker to end the game.

“Out of all nights to win, I think this night meant much more to me because it was “Senior Night” and everyone, especially the seniors, wanted it so badly… our hard work really showed off,” said senior Isabella Dod.

Catch the girls in action at their last home game on tonight (Tuesday, October 23) against Woodrow Wilson High School.
