SATURDAY, 4/27: Recycling Extravaganza

The City of Falls Church Public Works Department will host the Recycling Extravaganza on Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Property Yard and Recycling Center (217 Gordon Rd.).

City residents may recycle a variety of items including used electronics, cell phones, clothing and textiles, sewing machines, bicycles, printer cartridges, eyeglasses, hearing aids, and medical supplies like crutches. All items will be recycled, reused, or donated to charity.

Paper shredding will also be available, courtesy of TrueShred. Residents may bring up to three boxes, no bigger than 2’ x 2’ x 2’. Please remove binders, clips, and metal from paper boxes.

For a complete list of acceptable items and what happens to each item after donation, visit the City’s website,

To drop off materials, turn onto Gordon Rd. from W. Broad St. Volunteers will remove items from the car; there is no need for residents to get out of their cars—simple and easy.

Volunteers are also needed to sort clothing, inventory bikes, direct traffic, and more.

For additional information or to volunteer, please contact Allison Lohrenz at or 703-248-5456.
