Superintendent Lois Berlin congratulates John Levock for winning the NSPRA National Excellence Award

Congratulations to principal’s secretary John Levock and Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School for winning the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) Award of Excellence for the electronic school newsletter, MEHMS Husky Happenings. Superintendent Lois Berlin and a group of administrators and colleagues surprised Levock with the news at the school this morning, along with the NSPRA plaque and a bouquet of balloons.

Husky Happenings, named for the school mascot, is a monthly newsletter emailed to MEHMS parents.  It keeps middle school parents up-to-date on important information and activities and provides links to additional information posted on the school Web site.  Levock produces the newsletter with input from MEHMS faculty and staff.

This year, NSPRA received 698 publications contest entries from school divisions across the United States.  Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School was one of only 78 to receive the NSPRA Award of Excellence, the organization’s highest publications award.
