Library Overwhelmed – Please Buy a Book!
For years citizens have generously donated used books to the Mary Riley Styles Public Library. However, the library has received so many books this year that it has run out of space and must decline all donations until further notice.
There is a very simple solution to this problem. Please go to the library at 120 North Virginia Avenue and buy a book!
I’ve bought several dozen there over the years and can attest that you will never find better bargains. At first you may not find what you’re looking for, but drop by again in a week or two and you very well may.
Even if you aren’t really looking for anything, stop by anyway. The library is one of the best in the country for a city of this size.
Book prices are: standard paperbacks – 50 cents (buy two and get a third one free), over-sized paperbacks – 75 cents, hardcovers – $1.00. A few select items go for the princely sum of $2.00.
