Standoff Resolved in Pimmit Hills
The twenty-four hour standoff in Pimmit Hills was resolved tonight when Fairfax County police entered a house on Lisle Avenue to find a crime suspect shot in the chest.
Yesterday evening an unidentified woman was found shot in the 7700 block of Fisher Drive and was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
A “person of interest” in the shooting holed up in a nearby house on Lisle Avenue. Authorities kept their distance outside the house until entering this evening. Police initally reported the suspect was dead, but subsequent accounts stated he was transported to INOVA Fairfax Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.
Update: Thursday July 16: Fairfax Police spokesperson Lucy Caldwell reported that the suspect, John T. Valentini, died this morning at INOVA Fairfax Hospital.
