Crime Report for August 18-24

Missile Thrown at Occupied Dwelling – 800 block of W Broad St.  August 18, 12:27 a.m., unknown suspect hit private dwelling with a paint ball.

Graffiti, 422 South Maple (Cavalier Trail Park), August 18, 8:24 a.m., double wave skate slider spray painted by unknown white male subject.

Theft from Motor Vehicle, 225 Noland St., August 18, 9:27 a.m., owner reported that a wallet had been taken from an unlocked car.  No witnesses or suspects.

Graffiti, 128 Chanel Ter., August 17, between 9 and 9:30 p.m., unknown suspects marked a Dominion Virginia Power box with a blue paint marker.

Larceny, 169 Hillwood Ave. (Red, Hot and Blue), sometime on August 17, two large catering grills valued at $700 were stolen from the rear parking lot behind the restaurant. No suspects or witnesses.

Drunkenness, Eden Center, 6795 Wilson Blvd., August 18, 11:10 p.m.  Man arrested for Urinating in Public and Drunk in Public.

Driving Under the Influence, 6700 block Wilson Blvd, August 19, 2:32 a.m.  Man arrested for DWI Second Offense, Driving Suspended – DWI Related and Refusal to Permit Sample of Blood or Breath test.

Destruction of Property, 422 South Maple (Cavalier Trail Park), August 19, 6:47 a.m., overnight an unknown subject(s) used black spray paint to black out seven city signs.

Graffiti, 601 S. Oak Street (TJ Elementary School), August 19, 10:47 a.m., unknown suspects marked a rain barrel, a retaining wall and several exterior doors using green and blue spray paint.

Graffiti, 140 S. Maple Avenue (Bowl America), August 19, 11:11 a.m., rear of building marked with green spray paint.

Unlicensed Solicitation, 200 N. Maple Ave., August 20, 1 p.m., a tall black female approached victim and asked for a ride and money for a shuttle to Leesburg.  Victim gave the suspect a ride to Arlington Hospital and $40.

Drinking in Public, 1230 W. Broad St. (Giant Grocery Store), August 20, 7:21 p.m.  Woman  arrested for Drunk in Public.

Larceny, Theft from Building, 1218 W Broad St (Starbuck’s), August 21 at 6:13 a.m., an employee reported that over several days beginning on Thursday, August 13, 2009, a homeless male who frequents the store stole money from the employee tip jar.

Graffiti, 422 South Maple Avenue (Cavalier Trail Park/Skate Park), August 21, 8:14 a.m., double wave skate slider covered with multiple graffiti.

Banning, 1218 W Broad St. (Starbuck’s), August 21, 11:14 a.m..  Man banned for panhandling.

Shoplifting, 1003 W Broad St. (Rite Aid), August 22, 3:25 p.m., multiple items taken by two black males, believed to have fled in a tan Ford SUV with Maryland tags.

Graffiti, 105 W Broad St. (George Mason Sq.), August 22, 4:47 p.m. graffiti located in parking garage stairwell.

Driving under the Influence, 200 block W Broad St., August 22, 8:56 p.m.  Man was arrested for Driving under the Influence of alcohol and for unreasonable refusal.

Graffiti, 112 N West St, (Lazy Sundae), August 23, 1:30 a.m., officer observed graffiti damage on the front wall.  It was sprayed with black spray paint.

Drunk in Public, 500 Roosevelt Blvd., August 23, 1:52 a.m.  Man arrested for Drunk in Public.

Vandalism to Vehicle, 411 Jackson St., vehicles scratched beginning three weeks prior by unknown person(s).

Drunk in Public, 220 N Washington St, (State Theater), August 23, 6:55 p.m.  Man arrested for Drunk in Public.

Driving under the Influence, 103 Gordon Rd., August 23, 9:57 p.m.  Woman arrested for Driving Under the Influence.

Urinating in Public, 100 block of Park Pl. (near State Theatre), August 23, 11:47 p.m.  Man arrested for urinating in public.

Larceny, Shoplifting, 1150 W Broad St (CVS), August 24, 10:05 p.m., multiple items taken by a black female suspect who left in a silver or gray Honda Pilot with DC tags.

    Another car hit in Broadmont. I emailed the Police Dept to find out when the follow up to the July 27 community meeting would be held. No info yet. I am eager to see what “action steps” will be taken. I do not want the subject of the meeting to fall off the radar.
