SATURDAY 10/3: Echos Chamber Ensemble at Falls Church Presbyterian Church
Echos (pronounced EE-kos) is Choralis’ chamber ensemble, which will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Falls Church Presbyterian Church, 225 East Broad St. The concert could have been titled “Echoes by Echos” because it will be a musical history of Choralis over the past 10 years.
Echos will sing audience favorites with a program that includes music by William Byrd and Johannes Brahms as well as folk songs and spirituals. The benefit concert celebrates the choral journey that Choralis has traveled since it was founded in 1999.
A portion of ticket proceeds will go to benefit the Falls Church Presbyterian Church’s organ fund. Tickets are priced at $40 for premium seats; $25 for general admission; and $5 for students with ID. Children 12 and under are free. Tickets are available from www.choralis.org or 703- 237-2499.
Can’t make it on October 3? On Saturday, Oct. 24, Choralis will be performing Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana with full chorus and orchestra at the Schlesinger Concert Hall at the Alexandria campus of Northern Virginia Community College. See the Choralis website for more information.
