Creative Cauldron will hold a “World Dance Party” fundraising event on Saturday, February 9 at 8 pm.  A professional DJ will be spinning the Latin/Salsa dance tunes and Cecilia Villalobos, Director of Salsa Fuego Dance Company, will be on hand to teach dance steps to beginners and advanced alike.  Tickets are $20 and can be purchased in advance at www.creativecauldron.org or by calling 571-239-5288. Tickets purchased online receive a FREE beverage coupon for the World Dance Party.

Creative Cauldron is located at ArtSpace Falls Church, 410 S. Maple Avenue in the Pearson Square building.  Free parking is available in the garages at 410 and 400 S. Maple Avenue.

Get out your dancing shoes and come to Creative Cauldron for a fun evening of Latin/Salsa dancing at a “World Dance Party” on Saturday, February 9 at 8 pm.  Net proceeds from the event will benefit Creative Cauldron.   A professional DJ will be spinning the dance tunes including pop favorites inspired by the sounds of Africa, Latin America and other places from around the globe. Percussionist Performance at Passport to the World

Percussionist Tom Teasley will perform at Creative Cauldron on Sunday, February 3 at 2 pm.

Described in the Washington Post as “a percussionist in the widest and most exuberant sense of the word,” Tom Teasley will perform a concert of modern percussion from ancient traditions at Creative Cauldron on Sunday, February 3 at 2 pm.
Teasley maintains a unique career as a solo percussionist, composer and collaborator.
A three-time recipient of a Fulbright-Hayes grant for performances in the Middle East, Tom collaborated with indigenous musicians and gave historic performances in Bahrain, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, the West Bank and Jerusalem. He has been an artist-in-residence at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and has collaborated with the National Symphony as both a soloist and composer.
Tom earned the 2006 Artist-of-the-year award from Young Audiences of Virginia for his creative and educational presentations. His seven CDs have been greeted with international airplay and acclaim. He has been the subject of feature articles in both “Modern Drummer” and “Drum!” magazines.
A 2010 and 2011 Helen Hayes Award recipient for outstanding sound design, Tom tours frequently throughout the world performing and presenting clinics for the instrument companies he endorses including Yamaha, Vic Firth, Sabian, Remo, Latin Percussion and others.

Making their first appearance at Creative Cauldron, Achilleas will perform authentic Greek music in a concert on Saturday, February 2 at 7:30 pm as part of the “Passport to the World” series.

Performing for over thirty years, Achilleas Papaefthemiou and his musicians are an ensemble of talent, emotion and experience. With a repertoire of over 2,500 folk and pop songs, every geographical part of Greece and musical genre is fully represented.  Music and singing are tightly interwoven with Mr. Papaefthemiou’s life and he has been called the “nightingale” of the Greek Diaspora in America.

Vivian Takafuji will perform on Sunday, January 27 at Creative Cauldron.

Creative Cauldron is presenting Tales from the Pacific Islands, an interactive performance of storytelling, music and dance featuring Vivian Takafuji and her professional Polynesian dance troupe, Ta’ata Roiroi.  The family friendly event on Sunday, January 27 at 2 pm will highlight the music and culture of Tahiti, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

Learn how fire was kept on earth and whose face that is smiling in the moon, and why you must not ever aggravate a frog! Using imaginative storytelling and the inventive puppets of Creative Cauldron’s scenic designer Margie Jervis, this will be an afternoon that will enthrall even the youngest members of the audience.
