Larceny from Building, 400 block S. Maple Ave.  On Jan. 25, two bicycles were stolen from a bike station.

Driving Under the Influence and Possession of a False ID, 6700 block Wilson Blvd.  On Jan. 25, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation.  The driver, a 35 year old Riverdale, MD man, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence, and Possession of False ID.

Larceny from Building, 313 Park Ave. #202 (Park Avenue Medical Group).  On Jan. 27, an unknown suspect(s) stole cash from an unattended purse sometime overnight.

Driving Under the Influence, 200 block E. Broad St.  On Jan. 28, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation.  The driver, a 37 year old Suitland, MD man, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.

Driving Under the Influence, 500 block N. West St.  On Jan. 28, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation.  The driver, a 29 year old Falls Church man, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.

Attempted Sexual Assault, 450 W. Broad St. #220 (Venus & Mars Spa).  On Jan. 28 at approximately 9:56 a.m., the suspect entered the business as a patron and attempted to sexually assault the victim in one of the rooms.  The victim was able to break free and leave the scene.  The suspect was described as a male, approximately 40-45 years of age.  He has a medium build and unshaven.  He was wearing dark colored pants, a gray sweatshirt, a gray stocking cap, and dark rimmed glasses.

Shoplifting, 1150 W. Broad St. (CVS Pharmacy).  On Jan. 28, a 30 year old Oxon Hill, MD man was arrested for Grand Larceny.

Public Drunkenness, 800 block Villa Ridge.  On Jan. 28, a 55 year old Falls Church man was arrested for Public Drunkenness.

Liquor Law Violation, 6619 Wilson Blvd. (New Moon Restaurant). On Jan. 29, the manager of the restaurant, a 59 year old McLean man, was arrested for Virginia ABC violations.

Urinating In Public, 300 block W. Broad St.  On Jan. 29, a 22 year old Woodbridge man was arrested for Urinating In Public. 

Domestic Assault, 100 block Rowell Ct.  On Jan. 30, a 42 year old Arlington man was arrested for Assaulting a Family Member.

The City of Falls Church Police Department is hosting an information session for City residents, business owners, and interested individuals to volunteer for the Crime Solvers Board.  The session will be held Tuesday, Jan. 31, at 7:30 p.m., in the Dogwood Room in City Hall (300 Park Ave.)
 
Crime Solvers is a community-oriented program involving citizens, the business community, news media, and the Police Department working together in the fight against crime.  The Board would pay cash rewards to anonymous informants who provide information leading to the arrest and indictment of any person or persons who commit crimes or to the capture of a wanted person.  No tax dollars are used for rewards as Crime Solvers depends on the community for the funds.  The Board will work independently from but in partnership with the Police Department.

Drinking In Public, 200 Grove Ave. (West End Park).  On Jan. 17,  three Falls Church men ages 23, 29, and 30, were arrested for Drinking In Public.

Larceny from Building, 300 block James St.  On Jan. 17, officers responded to the area for a report of a stolen cash and clothes from the victim’s residence.  After further investigation, a 47 year old City of Falls Church, was arrested for Petit Larceny.

Shoplifting, 134 W. Broad St. (CVS Pharmacy).  On Jan. 17, officer responded to the location for a report of a black male, approximately 5’ 10” tall, 40-50 years of age, with short curly hair and a dark colored jacket, concealing an unknown amount of merchandise.

Larceny from Vehicle, 929 W. Broad St. #200 (Dancing Mind Yoga).  On Jan. 18 between 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m., an unknown suspect smashed windows and stole an iPhone and a computer from two vehicles parked in the business’ parking lot.

Prostitution, 300 W. Broad St . #23 ( Stratford Motor Lodge).  On Jan. 18,a 38 year old  Annandale man, was arrested for Solicitation of a Prostitute.  A 35 year old Falls Church woman was arrested for Prostitution and Keeping a Bawdy House.

Trespassing, 6795 Wilson Blvd. #16 (Pho Bien Restaurant).  On Jan. 19, a 34 year old Sterling man was arrested for Trespassing.

Graffiti, 1081 W. Broad St. (West End Shopping Center).  On Jan. 19, graffiti was found spray painted on the side wall.

Graffiti, 1003 W. Broad St. (Rite Aid).  On Jan. 19, graffiti was found spray painted on the dumpster.

Shoplifting, 1150 W. Broad St. (CVS Pharmacy).  On Jan. 20, a 50 year old man of no fixed address, was arrested for Petit Larceny.

Assault and Battery, 200 block N. Maple Ave.  On Jan. 21, a 23 year old City of Falls Church man was arrested for Assault and Battery and Possession of Marijuana.

Vandalism, 624 S. Washington St. (Crown Auto Group).  On Jan. 22, the business reported four vehicles were keyed sometime overnight.

Larceny from Vehicle, 105 W. Broad St. (Ireland ’s Four Provinces).  On Jan. 22 at approximately 11 p.m., an unknown suspect(s) stole medication from a patron.

Larceny from Building, 116 E. Broad St. (Pragma Corp.).  On Jan. 23, the business reported an unknown suspect(s) stole an iPhone and a digital camera sometime between Jan. 13 and Jan. 17.

Larceny from Vehicle, 103 W. Columbia St. (Columbia Baptist Church).  On Jan. 5, an unknown suspect(s) smashed a window and stole a laptop from the victim’s vehicle.

Stolen Vehicle, 1000 block Seaton Ln.  On Jan. 6, between 4:50 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., an unknown suspect(s) stole a van parked on the street.

Graffiti, 1001 W. Broad St.  On Jan. 7, an officer found graffiti spray painted on a building’s exterior wall.

Urinating In Public, 917 W. Broad St. (El Zunzal).  On Jan. 7, a 31 year old Vienna man was arrested for Urinating In Public.

Urinating In Public, 306 Hillwood Ave. (Lesly’s Restuarant).  On Jan. 7, a 34 year old Stafford man was arrested for Urinating In Public.

Graffiti, 210 E. Fairfax St. (Merrill House).  On Jan. 7, graffiti was found spray painted on an exterior wall.

Graffiti, 201 Douglas Ave. (The Mill Company Design & Decoration).  On Jan. 7, graffiti was found spray painted on a dumpster in the rear parking lot.

Shoplifting, 167 Hillwood Ave. (Virginia ABC Store).  On Jan. 7, an unknown suspect stole two bottles of liquor.

Tampering with a Motor Vehicle, and Narcotics Violation, 600 block Fulton Ave. On Jan. 7, officers responded to a report that individuals were entering vehicles in the area.  A 19 year old New Carrolton, MD man and an 18 year old Capitol Heights, MD man were arrested for Tampering with a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Marijuana.

On Jan. 8, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation.  A 20 year old Falls Church man was arrested for Possession of Marijuana, Underage Possession of Alcohol, and Driving Under the Influence.

Graffiti, 929 W. Broad St. (Second Chance Thrift Store).  On Jan. 8, graffiti was found spray painted on the exterior walls of a storage building.

Shoplifting, 1212 W. Broad St. ( Virginia ABC Store).  On Jan. 8, the business reported an unknown suspect stole a liquor bottle on Jan 7.

Larceny from Vehicle, 130 N. Washington St. (Clare & Don’s).  On Jan. 11, an unknown suspect(s) smashed a window and stole electronics from the victim’s vehicle.

Destruction of Property, 6757 Wilson Blvd. #14 (Bach Tuyet Jewelry).  On Jan. 12, a front window was damaged sometime overnight.

Shoplifting, 1212 W. Broad St. ( Virginia ABC Store).  On Jan. 12, an unknown suspect(s) stole a bottle of liquor from the store.  After further investigation, officers identified the suspect.  A 22 year old Reston woman was arrested for Petit Larceny.

Driving Under the Influence, 100 block E. Jefferson St.  On Jan. 13, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation.  The driver, a 26 year old Sterling man, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.

Disorderly Conduct, 110 N. West St. (7-Eleven).  On Jan. 14, officers responded to the location for a report of a fight.  A 25 year old Gaithersburg, MD man and a 34 year old City of Falls Church man, were arrested for Disorderly Conduct.

Narcotics Violation, 300 block S. Washington St.  On Jan. 14, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation.  An 18 year old Falls Church man was arrested for Possession of Marijuana.

Driving Under the Influence, 900 block W. Broad St.  On Jan. 15, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation.  The driver, a 56 year old Rockville, MD man, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.

Prostitution, 300 W. Broad St. #22 (The Stratford Motor Lodge).  On Jan. 16, a 27 year old Hyattsville, MD woman was arrested for Prostitution and Frequenting a Bawdy House.  A 31 year old woman of no fixed address, was arrested for Receiving Money from Earnings from Prostitution and Keeping a Bawdy House.

Falls Church City Police are investigating a residential burglary which occurred Monday evening, Nov. 14, when the residents were home.  Police are urging residents to keep the doors and windows of their homes and vehicles locked and to place valuables out of sight.

Between 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 14 and 6 a.m. on Nov. 15, unknown person(s) entered an unlocked sliding glass rear door of a home in the 1300 block of Robinson Place.  The house was occupied at the time and the residents did not hear or see anything because they were asleep.  The only item taken in this burglary was a laptop computer.  The computer was immediately exploited for banking information and that information was used to attempt to purchase expensive goods at a large department store in the metropolitan area. 

Falls Church Police note this incident is not typical because the suspects were sophisticated enough to duplicate bank cards without the original cards in possession in an attempt to make large purchases immediately without the owner’s knowledge.  Police remind everyone to take safety precautions every day: lock all doors and windows and secure valuables out of the line of sight in homes and vehicles.  For residential security ideas, Falls Church City residents may contact the Police Department to set an appointment with a certified crime prevention specialist for a free home security survey.  Interested City residents should contact Officer James Brooks at JBrooks@fallschurchva.gov or 703-241-5056.  Everyone is urged to call the police if you see anything or anyone suspicious.  Your eyes and your ears are the best defense in crime prevention.  To report an incident that has occurred call the Falls Church Police non-emergency number at 703-241-5053 or to report a burglary in progress or any other emergency, call 703-241-5050 or 911

Drug and Alcohol Violations, 300 blk E. Broad St, Nov. 9.  A 20 year old Falls Church man was arrested for Possession of Marijuana, Driving After Illegally Consuming Alcohol and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.  A 20 year old Arlington woman was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine), Possession of Marijuana, and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.  Charges are pending against a 17 year-old juvenile of the City of Falls Church.

Prescription Fraud, 1150 W. Broad St (CVS), Nov 10.  A 32 year old Montgomery Village, MD man was arrested on three counts of Attempting to Fraudulently Obtain Drugs.

Driving Under the Influence, 1000 blk S. Washington St, Nov 11.  A 38 year old Washington, DC man was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.

Smoking Violations, 6795 #20 Wilson Blvd (Pho Bien), Nov 11.  A 46 year old Falls Church man was arrested for Smoking in a Non-Smoking Area.  The manager, a 32 year old Annandale man, was issued a citation for Permitting Smoking in a Non-Smoking Area.

Smoking Violations and Drunk in Public, 6757 Wilson Blvd (Eden Center), Nov 11.  A 23 year old Vienna man was arrested for Smoking in a Non-Smoking Area and for being Drunk in Public.

Liquor Law Violations, 1053B W Broad St (Enkhee Trade), Nov 12.  The business owner, a 36 year old Williamsburg man, was issued a summons for Possession of Alcohol Without a License.

Liquor Law Violations, 800 blk N Roosevelt St, Nov 12.  A 17 year-old juvenile of the City of Falls Church was issued a citation for Underage Possession of Alcohol.

Defrauding an Innkeeper, 127 E. Broad St. (Applebee’s).  On Nov. 3, four unknown suspects left the establishment without paying their bill.

Destruction of Property, 201 N. Washington St. (Kaiser Permanente).  On Nov. 4, an unknown suspect(s) broke a glass window to the parking garage with a rock sometime within the past two days.

Destruction of Property, 700 block Parker Ave.  On Nov. 4, an unknown suspect(s) broke a window pane in a residence sometime between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Larceny from Building, 100 block Great Falls St.  On Nov. 4, an unknown suspect(s) stole a railing from the victim’s residence.

Broad St.  On Nov. 4, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation.   The driver, a 17 year-old male, of McLean, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana, and Underage Possession of Alcohol.  A passenger, a 17 year-old male, of McLean, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana.

Grand Larceny, 300 block W. Broad St. (Broaddale Shopping Center).  On Nov. 5, an unknown suspect stole cash from a wallet after knocking it out of the victim’s hand.

Destruction of Property, 300 block Lawton St.  On Nov. 5, an unknown suspect(s) smashed the side window to the victim’s vehicle.

Larceny from Vehicle, 800 block Park Ave.  On Nov.6 an unknown suspect(s) stole various items including electronic gaming equipment from the victim’s vehicle sometime overnight.  There was no evidence of forced entry.

Unlawful Entry, 100 block Chanel Terr.  On Oct. 28, officers responded to the victim’s residence for a report of a suspect entering the property.  After further investigation, officers later arrested a 32 year old City of Falls Church man for Unlawful Entry.

Driving Under the Influence, 500 block Greenwich St.  On Oct. 29, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation.  The driver, a 38 year old Falls Church man, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.

Driving Under the Influence, 804 S. Washington St. (7-Eleven).  On Oct. 30, an officer responded to the area for a report a vehicle crashing into the building.  The driver, a 35 year old Falls Church man, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.

Larceny from Vehicle, 900 block Ellison St.  On Oct. 30, an unknown suspect(s) stole a generator from the victim’s vehicle sometime overnight.

Driving Under the Influence, 1000 block W. Broad St.  On Oct. 31, a 26 year old Falls Church man, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.

Narcotics Violations, 100 block Chanel Terr.  On Oct. 19, officers responded to the area for a report of suspicious activity.  A 21 year old City of Falls Church man, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana.  A 39 year old Lynchburg man was arrested for Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute.

Larceny from Vehicle, 200 block E. Fairfax St. O n Oct. 20, license plates were stolen from the victim’s vehicle sometime after Oct. 16.

Driving Under the Influence and Liquor Law Violations, 400 block E Broad St.  On Oct. 21, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation.  The driver, a 20 year old Falls Church man, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.  A passenger, a 19 year old Falls Church woman, was arrested for Underage Possession of Alcohol.  Another passenger, a 26 year old Arlington man, was arrested for Purchasing Alcohol for Persons Under 21 Years of Age.

Driving Under the Influence, 300 block E. Broad St.  On Oct. 22, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation.  The driver, a 32 year old Arlington man, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.

Simple Assault, 6763-R1 Wilson Blvd. (Planet Fitness),  On Oct. 22, two unknown suspect(s) assaulted the victim during a fight in the parking lot.

Larceny from Vehicle, 200 block N. Oak St.  On Oct. 22, an unknown suspect(s) ransacked the victim’s vehicle and stole a GPS device and a phone charger.

Driving Under the Influence, Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting Arrest, 1000 block W. Broad St.  On Oct. 22, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation.  The driver, a 43 year old Fairfax man, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.  The passenger, a 43 year old Falls Church man, was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.

Public Drunkenness, 900 block W. Broad St.  On Oct. 23, a 21 year old Falls Church man was arrested for Public Drunkenness.

Littering, 6700 block Wilson Blvd. (Eden Center).  On Oct. 24, a 46 year old Silver Spring, MD man,  was arrested for Littering.

Driving Under the Influence, 1100 block W. Broad St.  On Oct. 24, an officer conducted a traffic stop for a motor vehicle violation.  A 27 year old Hyattsville, MD man, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence.

October 20, 2011

The Arlington Grand Jury has indicted Michael Gardner on a third count of aggravated sexual battery.  The indictment was filed Monday and was the subject of a hearing today in Circuit Court.

Gardner was indicted in July on one count of object penetration and two counts of aggravated sexual battery involving three girls in two separate incidents at his home in June.  The latest charge does not involve a fourth girl.

Trial on all counts is scheduled to begin on January 23, 2012 and is expected to last four days.

The trial originally had been scheduled to begin October 3 but was delayed to allow for the completion of DNA testing.  Gardner’s attorney has disputed a recent WUSA-TV report on the test results.
