Dining: La Caraquena

Claudia and I have eaten at La Caraquena several times over the last few months and enjoyed it every time. The restaurant on the corner of Little Falls and W. Broad St. in Falls Church is small and pleasantly decorated, the staff friendly and happy to advise on the menu, and the food interesting and tasty. I particularly enjoy their Saltenas and Sopa de Frijoles (black bean soup). Claudia tends towards the Sopa de Maní (Bolivian peanut soup), and Adam likes the Barros Luco (Chilean steak sandwich) because of the Gouda cheese. Don’t forget to ask for the spicy green chili salsa. I don’t know what it is called but it is delicious (and darned hot.)
