I’m mystified by one group listed in the parade lineup….”City’s taking of property for the good of the Citizens”…anyone have a clue? Do I have to worry they wanna take my house?? :)

I just want to note that on last Tuesday, I looked out my window and watched our city workers taking my solid waste and putting in into the truck— something I’ve taken for granted for years. But this was special, for it was the last time for those guys to do this on my street. Next week, on Wednesday, will be the first day for our new service with a new company for all of the city’s solid, brush and recycling
for the entire city. This is a great move for the city for many reasons and now is the best time for this change that has been considered often ,but wasn’t the “right” time. But I want to send out a huge “thank you” for our public works crew that has done so much for us over the years. Their numbers are much smaller and they still have their jobs working on utilities, road repair, storm water, snow removal and much more. They are dedicated to our city and deserve our highest praise. I gotten to know many of them as they work and I have loved the property yard open houses that will be no more. The pride in their work is always felt. Thank you all!
